WWII Museum
The National WWII Museum is down the street from our hotel. It was billed as a must see museum when in New Orleans. It didn't disappoint. The displays were very good. Libbie and I spent the most time in the South Pacific portion of the venue since both of our Dads spent their WWII time in the South Pacific.

The time and place is set for us by a 4D film narrated by Tom Hanks. The extra dimension is provided by seats that rumble when tanks go by and shake during explosions. In addition, hydraulics on the stage raise and lower gun placements and buildings in synch with the film where the objects on stage blend into the film scene projected behind. The entire projection is well done, realistic and grips your attention while recounting the tale of WWII in both Europe and the South Pacific.
We spent the morning in the museum before heading out to find lunch, hopefully in a venue with music.
Along the waterfront we found the Krewe of Bachus floats staged for the parade tonight.

For lunch we wnet to the Crescent City Brewery which had a live band, good food and great beer that was cold.

After lunch walkd to nearby Jackson Square to shop for art. The watercolor artists Lee Tucker whom we met 2 days ago was there painting another watercolor. We arranged to purchase one of his originals of a French Quarter Street and have it shipped to us. We also picked up a smaller oil of a small Marigny style house painted in bright colors. It was similar to the homes we saw on our bike tour.
