Buffas Bar
Blaise and Cathy told us about a great jazz bar on the other side of the French Quarter. We agreed to meet there around 7:30PM and rode the streetcar along the river to Esplanade. The Streetcar ride was entertaining. It's driven by a very laid back engineer in New Orleans style. there's no hurry and there doesn't seem to be any schedule.
Buffa's was a delight. Tourist free even though it was the peak of Mardi Gras weekend. Just food, beer and music which we enjoyed.

We enjoyed this jazz quartet so much that we purchased their CD, I was mesmerized by the music and couldn't get enough of this style. The tunes were not familiar but were lively and were probably made up "on the fly" freestyle around a central theme in the song. This is the New Orleans way.
